Use of Artifical Intellegence
USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE
Midwifery Science and Practice Journal (MSPJ) permits the use of artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies (e.g., large language models, chatbots) in the writing process, subject to the following conditions:
- AI tools may be used to improve readability, language, and grammar, but must not replace core authoring tasks such as generating scientific content, data interpretation, or drawing conclusions.
- Authors are fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of the entire manuscript, including any content produced with the assistance of AI tools.
- The use of AI in the preparation of the manuscript must be disclosed in the Methods or Acknowledgments section, specifying the tool used and its purpose.
- AI tools must not be listed as an author or co-author, as authorship requires accountability that AI cannot hold.
- AI must not be used to generate, fabricate, or manipulate research data, images, or results.
- Undisclosed or inappropriate use of AI that is later identified will be treated as a breach of publication ethics and handled according to MSPJ's Publication Ethics policy.
